Juventus play at the Allianz Stadium, a modern, club-owned ground on the edge of Turin with the stands pushed right up to the pitch — a sharp contrast to Italy's older municipal bowls. Sightlines are excellent and the atmosphere builds quickly. It's an easy stadium to reach from the city by tram and bus.
Turin has its own airport, and Milan's airports are within reach by train if the fares work out better. The elegant centre is walkable, laid out along a grid of arcaded streets that keep you dry whatever the weather. Trams run out towards the stadium in the hours before kick-off.
Turin is one of Italy's most underrated cities — the former royal capital, ringed by the Alps, with grand piazzas, the world-class Egyptian Museum, historic cafés and a claim as the birthplace of proper Italian chocolate and vermouth. Great value and quietly stylish, it deserves a weekend of its own.
