PSV's Philips Stadion sits right in the middle of Eindhoven, an unusually central, compact ground with the crowd close to the pitch and a genuinely loud atmosphere for its size. Its city-centre location, a short walk from the main railway station, makes it one of the most convenient stadiums in Europe to reach.
Eindhoven is a busy low-cost hub with plenty of direct flights from the UK and Ireland, and a quick bus links the airport to the centre. Almost everything — station, stadium, bars and hotels — is within walking distance, which makes for a refreshingly stress-free football weekend with no transfers to juggle.
Eindhoven is the home of Philips and now a hub of Dutch design and technology, with lively, student-driven nightlife along the Stratumseind bar strip. It's smaller and far less touristy than Amsterdam, which is a large part of the appeal — friendly, walkable and excellent value for a short break.
